The University of Toledo and Lourdes University have teamed up to help Lourdes students finish their degrees as the university plans to close by the end of the 2025-26 academic year. This collaboration, known as a Teach-Out Agreement, provides a clear pathway for students during this transition.
Sr. Nancy Linenkugel, president of Lourdes University, emphasized the agreement’s importance. “This shows our commitment to our students,” she stated. “While this is a challenging time, we are thankful for the partnership with The University of Toledo, which will help our students continue their education.”
Under this agreement, The University of Toledo will be the main partner for Lourdes students, making it easier for them to transfer to programs that align with what UToledo offers. The goal is to let students continue their education smoothly, maintaining access to necessary resources and affordability.
One major aspect is that UToledo will keep Lourdes student records, including transcripts, in line with state and federal rules about record retention. This ensures that students can access their academic histories even after Lourdes closes.
Students enrolled at Lourdes during the 2025–26 academic year can transfer to UToledo through a streamlined process designed just for them. UToledo President James Holloway welcomed Lourdes students, stating that they would be supported like every other member of the UToledo community.
