Valve has stirred excitement recently by importing about 50 tons of “Game Consoles” into the U.S. This shipment occurred between May 1st and April 30th, as per import records seen by The Verge. Many speculate that these containers likely hold the much-anticipated Steam Machine or Steam Frame rather than just a new batch of the Steam Deck, which has also been labeled as a “Game Console” for shipping purposes.
While shipments dropped off after Christmas in 2025, they’re ramping back up. In two months, nearly 100 tons of product has arrived in the U.S., brought by cargo ships named Ever Logic and Ever Shine. They transported ten 40-foot containers to Los Angeles and Tacoma, weighing a total of 127,228 kilograms. Each of these containers can weigh over 3,700kg when empty, meaning the actual cargo weight is less than the total mentioned.
Previously, Valve’s 40-foot containers contained about 42 packages weighing around 14,500kg gross (32,000 lbs). This was true even as recently as April 18th. However, the Ever Shine brought a lighter load of 12,608kg (27,800 lbs) a few days later, keeping the same number of packages. This change suggests something new might be inside.
From April 23rd onward, Valve has had several shipments, averaging around 12,600kg each. After accounting for container weight, that’s around 53,124kg of products and materials, equating to roughly 50 tons of “Game Consoles.” But how many units does that really mean? If a Steam Machine weighs about 2.6kg (about 5.73 lbs), the shipments might be enough for fewer than 20,000 consoles, especially if they include extra accessories.
User demand is already high. The Steam Controller sold out on launch day, and the anticipation for the Steam Machine could lead to quick sales again. With growing interest and competition in the gaming hardware market, the Steam Frame will also likely attract attention.
Interestingly, Valve’s design team is actively trying to restock the Steam Deck, which has seen increased demand. As Pierre-Loup Griffais, a Valve designer, mentioned, the company is “working hard to ensure” that more units will be available soon.
