Idaho Swim and Dive Shines at MPSF Championships
Idaho Swim and Dive kicked off its first Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Championships in Pharr, Texas, with hopes of making it to the NCAA Zone E Championships. The excitement was palpable as the team dove into competitions.
The opening day featured the 1-meter dive, where Maya Salvitti and Amelia Ward both made impressive marks. Salvitti landed in the A final with a stellar score of 253.05, finishing sixth overall. Ward also showcased her skills, placing 10th in the B final with a score of 226.00.

The competition continued on the third day with multiple swimmers advancing to finals in several events. Notably, Butler and Kiefer had strong showings in their respective heats. Kiefer clinched yet another MPSF title with a time of 4:17.01 in the 400-yard individual medley, while Mason took bronze with 4:20.48.
Day four proved to be another highlight. Kiefer earned her third MPSF title in the 200-yard backstroke, finishing in 1:57.18, while Salvitti shone again in the platform dive with a score close to the school record.
By the end of the championships, Idaho amassed a total score of 942 points, significantly surpassing last year’s performance. This reflects the hard work and growth of the program. With nine top finishes this season, Idaho is clearly making a mark in collegiate swimming.
Looking ahead, Maya Salvitti has secured a spot in the NCAA Zone E Championships. As she prepares to compete in College Station, the team looks forward to the NCAA Swim and Dive Championships in Atlanta, starting March 18.
