Vande Bharat Sleeper Train Hits 180 km/h: Final High-Speed Trial Completed!

On December 30, Vaishnaw shared an impressive video of a safety trial for the Vande Bharat Sleeper train on his X account. The clip showed how glasses filled with water remained steady, even at high speeds.

During the trial, this new generation train reached speeds of 180 km/h on the Kota-Nagda route. Vaishnaw noted, “Our water test showcased the train’s advanced technology.”

Officials provided insights into the safety evaluations. They looked closely at various aspects like stability, vibration, braking performance, and emergency systems. The trial was a success; the Commissioner of Railway Safety declared the train’s high-speed performance fully satisfactory.

The 16-coach Vande Bharat sleeper train aims to enhance long-distance travel comfort. It features modern amenities such as comfortable sleeper berths, advanced suspension, automatic doors, and high-tech surveillance systems. These improvements reflect Indian Railways’ dedication to safety and innovation.

A recent survey highlights that over 70% of passengers prioritize safety features when choosing rail travel. This shift in focus may explain the growing emphasis on technology in new train designs.

The successful trial not only marks a crucial technical milestone but also signals a significant future for Vande Bharat Sleeper services. This evolution is part of India’s broader goal of becoming self-sufficient in rail manufacturing, known as Atmanirbhar Bharat. Advances like these promise a safer, more enjoyable travel experience for all passengers.
