Pope Francis had a peaceful sixth night at Rome’s Gemelli Hospital, where he is receiving treatment for double pneumonia. This morning, he got up and enjoyed breakfast in an armchair, according to the Holy See Press Office.
The Vatican reported that the Pope’s condition is stable. His recent blood tests show a slight improvement, especially in the inflammatory markers. After breakfast, he took some time to read newspapers and met with his closest collaborators. Before lunch, he also received the Eucharist.
In the afternoon, Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni paid him a visit, and they spent about 20 minutes together in private conversation.
Doctors have indicated that due to the Pope’s complex health situation, he will require a longer stay in the hospital. Despite this, the news of his stable condition and engagement in daily activities brings hope for his recovery.
