Vice Takes the Ring: Dive into the Exciting World of Bare-Knuckle Boxing and Live Sports!

Vice Media is stepping into the ring.

They’ve announced a deal with BYB Bare Knuckle Boxing to air 13 live events on Vice TV this year, mostly on Saturday nights.

This agreement is a big deal for Vice TV. It’s their first live event series, starting with the BYB 37 Denver Brawl IV on February 22. This move marks a shift from their usual edgy pop culture content to sports programming, something new for the network.

“We are excited to welcome live BYB Bare Knuckle Boxing as a regular feature on our schedule,” said Pete Gaffney, president of Vice TV. “Vice Sports will continue to expand with engaging sports-themed shows, live events, and podcasts.”

Vice Media has gone through significant changes. After filing for bankruptcy in 2023, the company sought a fresh start. Founded in Montreal in 1994, it grew from a bold print magazine into a major media player, based in Brooklyn. However, after years of expansion, the company faced financial difficulties. It was eventually bought for $350 million by a group that included Fortress Investment Group.

Now, under the new Vice Sports banner, the network has already kicked off with shows like Brady vs Belichick: The Verdict, and docuseries Calipari: Razor’s Edge and Pitino: Red Storm Rising. Vice Media plans to produce over 50 hours of sports content, including shows and events, for both TV and digital platforms.
