Vince Gilligan’s ‘Pluribus’ Breaks Records as Apple TV’s Most Successful Drama Launch!

Pluribus, the new Apple TV series, has shattered records to become the platform’s most viewed drama ever. Created by Vince Gilligan, known for Breaking Bad, the show topped Severance Season 2’s record, launching big in over 100 countries, including the U.S., UK, and Canada.

In the U.S., initial viewership figures back this success. Even before the full Nielsen data arrives, Luminate reported that Pluribus racked up a solid 6.4 million viewing hours in its first week. While it debuted with two episodes on November 7, the app even faltered under the demand, showing just how eagerly audiences are diving in.

Matt Cherniss, Apple TV’s head of programming, expressed the excitement of keeping the show a secret until its launch. He described Pluribus as a groundbreaking concept that really captured their attention. He highlighted Rhea Seehorn’s remarkable performance and the show’s mix of humor and thought-provoking themes.

Apple TV scored the series in a competitive bidding war back in 2022, securing a two-season deal. The story follows Carol Sturka, the “most miserable person on Earth,” tasked with saving the world from unwarranted happiness. The cast also features Karolina Wydra and Carlos-Manuel Vesga, among others.

Mark your calendars: the fourth episode, titled “Please, Carol,” drops on November 21, 2025, followed by weekly releases through December 26. For more Pluribus content, a full chapter from Bloodsong of Wycaro, tied to the series, is available on Apple Books.

With its unique premise and strong initial response, Pluribus stands as a testament to how engaging storytelling can captivate global audiences. For more insights into the series and its impact, you can check official stats and updates from sources like Deadline.
