Virat Kohli Joins Exclusive 300 ODI Club: A Milestone Moment in IND vs NZ Match!

Dubai: Virat Kohli has made history by playing in his 300th One Day International (ODI) match against New Zealand at the Dubai International Stadium. This milestone places him among an elite group, making him the seventh Indian cricketer to reach this mark.

The 36-year-old achieved this feat during a crucial Group stage match against the Blackcaps. Other legendary Indian cricketers who have played 300 or more ODIs include Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, Rahul Dravid, Mohammad Azharuddin, Sourav Ganguly, and Yuvraj Singh.

Kohli’s journey began 17 years ago when he made his debut against Sri Lanka at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium. He first caught the attention of selectors as captain of the Under-19 team that won the World Cup. Since then, his career has been a remarkable success, consistently scoring runs and contributing to the team’s victories.

Recently, Kohli faced a dip in form during the Champions Trophy. In India’s opening game against Bangladesh, he was out for just 22 runs. However, he quickly regained his form in the next match against Pakistan, scoring an impressive unbeaten 100 runs. His performance was crucial in leading India to chase down a target of 243 runs with 45 balls to spare.

Notably, Kohli broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record for being the fastest player to score 14,000 runs in ODIs. By the time he reached his 300th match, Kohli had accumulated 14,085 runs from 299 games, maintaining an impressive average of 58.20.

As he continues his career, Kohli remains a pivotal player for India and a source of inspiration for many aspiring cricketers.
