Wallace State Soccer Faces Tough Loss Against Union University: 4-0 Blowout – Highlights & Analysis

HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Wallace State’s men’s soccer team faced a tough opponent in Union University, losing 4-0 in an exhibition match. However, head coach James Fee saw bright spots in his team’s performance.

“Even with the loss, I was pleased with how the team played,” Fee said. “We did a good job overall, but we allowed three goals from set pieces and missed key chances.”

Union University took advantage of their set-piece opportunities, which helped them pull ahead. The Lions had several chances to score but struggled to find the back of the net.

Brothers Kaisei and Shishio Abram stood out with their hustle and creativity during the game. Goalkeeper Wilson Nichols also performed well in his first start of the season.

Fee pointed out that attackers Yaya Jawneh and Javier Miranda were effective, generating numerous opportunities, even if they didn’t score. Their speed and skill kept Union on their toes.

Despite this loss, the experience gained from playing against a strong team will benefit the Lions as they move into the regular season. Wallace State, now at a record of 1-1, will travel to Georgia Military College on September 3rd. They’ll then return home for three consecutive games starting September 9th against Itawamba Community College.
