SpaceX has made history with its 139th mission of the year, launching from Cape Canaveral, Florida, on October 23, 2025. A Falcon 9 rocket took off at 9:30 p.m. EDT, delivering the final satellite for the Spainsat Next Generation (NG) constellation.

The Spainsat NG satellites are designed to enhance secure communications for the Spanish Armed Forces and their partners, according to SatNews.

This follows the launch of the first Spainsat NG satellite earlier this year. Interesting to note, the mission also marked the first time in a while that the rocket’s first stage was not recovered post-launch. SpaceX stated this was due to the extra power needed for this mission’s payload.
