Week 15 Injury Report: What You Need to Know for the Texans Matchup

Marvin Harrison Jr. won’t be playing for the Cardinals this weekend. He’s one of eight players sitting out against the Texans. Both he and cornerback Max Melton have been nursing heel injuries, with Melton missing the rest of the week after limited practice on Wednesday.

Other players ruled out include left guard Evan Brown (personal reasons), defensive lineman Bilal Nichols (knee), wide receiver Xavier Weaver (hamstring), left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. (knee), and safeties Jalen Thompson (hamstring) and Dadrion Taylor-Demerson (ankle). This marks the fifth game Taylor-Demerson will miss. Although safety Budda Baker practiced on Thursday and Friday, he has a wrapped right thumb but is still expected to play.

Coach Jonathan Gannon mentioned that Brown is dealing with a family issue.

Walter Nolen III, who has been limited all week, is listed as questionable for the game. Gannon noted that Nolen (knee) did well in his return. Several other players are in the same boat, including running back Emari Demercado (ankle), tight end Elijah Higgins (illness), defensive lineman L.J. Collier (knee), and offensive tackle Christian Jones (knee). For both Jones and Collier to play, they must be activated from Injured Reserve by Saturday afternoon.

On the Texans’ side, no one has been ruled out, but tight end Harrison Bryant (neck/shoulder), running back Nick Chubb (ribs), linebacker E.J. Speed (knee), and wide receiver Justin Watson (calf) are all questionable.

Injuries are a big factor in the NFL; they can shift the balance of a game. As the season progresses, it’s common for teams to deal with such challenges. According to a report by the NFL Players Association, injuries have risen by about 15% over the last five years, highlighting the physical demands of the sport. This week’s game will test the depth and resilience of both teams.
