If you enjoy the outdoors, check out Celebrate Trails Day on Saturday, April 25. Events will run all day along the Salish Coast Trail and the Bay to Baker Trail. It’s a great chance to explore our beautiful scenery and learn about the trails in our area. You can travel from Bellingham to Birch Bay and even on to Maple Falls. Planning to spruce up your garden? Good news! The Koma Kulshan Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society is hosting a Native Plant Sale at Cordata Park (4510 Cordata Pkwy) on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Grab low-maintenance plants that save water, improve soil, and provide habitat for wildlife. Ferndale has two exciting events this weekend. On Friday, April 24, join Beach Bingo at the Ferndale Events Center (5715 Barrett Rd) at 5 p.m. This 21+ event combines classic bingo with music bingo. For tickets and details, head to the Ferndale Community Services Facebook page.
Then, on Saturday, join the 5k Flower Power Run at 11 a.m. The race starts at Pioneer Pavilion and takes you over the Nooksack River and through Hovander Park, finishing at FrinGe Brewing (5640 3rd Ave). This weekend’s live music highlight is a fundraiser at Shakedown on Saturday night. Enjoy a night of music featuring the dreamy sounds of Fog Bodies, who blend pop and shoegaze.
