Google said it is deepening its roots in Missouri with a new data center in Montgomery County, alongside infrastructure expansion, energy affordability efforts and workforce support.
Through its Capacity Commitment Framework agreement with Ameren, Google said it is supporting the development of more than 500 megawatts of additional capacity. The company said the arrangement helps ensure it covers its own operational and infrastructure costs.
Google also said it is establishing a $20 million Energy Impact Fund to help lower utility bills for families through targeted home weatherization and efficiency initiatives.
The company said its data centers act as economic engines, generating nine local jobs for every direct position created. It also said it is funding local workforce programs to prepare Missourians for skilled roles.
Those efforts include helping the Laborers and Contractors Training Center train thousands of new construction laborers and apprentices in Montgomery County through support to Construction Laborers and Contractors Joint Training Fund of Eastern Missouri.
