WALTHAM, Mass. – In a recent matchup, #11 ranked West Chester defeated Bentley 18-8 in a thrilling non-conference game.
Callie Burchill was a standout for the Falcons, scoring three goals and securing eight draw controls. Teammates Sophia Pope and Caitlin Keenan also contributed with two goals each.
West Chester, now improving to 4-1 for the season, started strong, racing to an 8-2 lead within just 17 minutes. The Falcons quickly fought back, scoring three unanswered goals in just over a minute and a half. Pope scored the first and third goals during this run, while Keenan netted the second, narrowing the gap to 8-5.
Despite this momentum, West Chester responded effectively, scoring the last three goals of the first half to lead 11-5 at halftime.
The second half began with Natalia Dutkewych scoring just 12 seconds in, making it 11-6. However, West Chester quickly regained control, pushing their lead to 15-6 late in the third quarter.
In the final quarter, Burchill showed her prowess again, scoring two goals within 27 seconds.
Next, the Falcons will battle #16 ranked Adelphi at home for their first Northeast 10 game of the season.
