WGOLF: Huskies Battle at The ‘Mo’ Morial, Secure 13th Place – Highlights from Houston Christian University Athletics

BRYAN, Texas – The HCU women’s golf team faced some challenges recently at The “Mo” Morial at Traditions Club, finishing 13th overall with a team score of +104 across three rounds.

Leading the team was Ploy Makmanee, who secured 14th place with a score of +15, thanks to steady rounds of 79, 76, and 76. Her shining moment came during the second round when she fired a one-under 35 on the front nine, including three birdies. In the final round, she added another birdie on the par-4 hole 3 and managed five consecutive pars, showcasing her skill and resilience.

Lou Rousselot finished in 56th place with a +30 tally, scoring 82, 80, and 84. She noted a highlight during her last round with a birdie on hole 13 after navigating through some tricky challenges on holes 9 and 10.

Hailey Hendershott placed 62nd with a +32 score after rounds of 78, 93, and a strong 77 in her final outing. She demonstrated her talent by making back-to-back birdies on holes 10 and 11, which included a par-5 and par-3, rounding off her day with four consecutive pars.

Alyssa Stewart and Joselyn Keller also competed well, finishing 66th and 69th, respectively, with scores of +34 and +41. Stewart posted rounds of 86, 85, and 79, while Keller recorded scores of 81, 92, and 85.

Looking ahead, the Huskies are gearing up for their next challenge at the Southland Conference Championship, set for April 14-16 in San Marcos, Texas. This tournament will be crucial as it marks the team’s final competition of the season, giving them an opportunity to finish strong.
