Collingwood Climate Action Team is reaching out to Simcoe-Grey MPP Brian Saunderson about Bill 5. We’re genuinely worried about how this legislation could harm our environment and community.
Bill 5 threatens to weaken crucial environmental protections in Ontario. If passed, it would limit conservation authorities’ power. It would also reduce public input and speed up development projects without proper environmental assessments. These changes could jeopardize our land, water, and overall health.
As our elected representative, we’re asking you to stand with the people of Collingwood and oppose this bill. We believe it’s essential to protect our environment for future generations. This isn’t just a political issue; it impacts everyone’s quality of life.
Many residents share these concerns. Recent surveys show that 70% of Ontarians prioritize environmental protections. Now is the time for leaders like you to act. We need your support to take our voices to Premier Ford and the PC caucus.
We would appreciate a chance to discuss this matter further. Meeting with community members and local environmental groups could help us voice our concerns more effectively.
Thank you for listening and for representing our community.
