Apple switched to M-series chips to improve performance and efficiency. Since then, Intel Macs have been phased out, with the last Intel Mac, the Mac Pro, discontinued in 2023. In fact, Apple hasn’t sold an Intel Mac in nearly three years.
The final software update for Intel Macs will be called macOS Tahoe, and Intel users can expect security updates for three more years. But don’t look forward to new features in macOS 27—it won’t be available for your Intel Mac.
