Sasha Bokor is exactly the type of student colleges seek: she scored a 35 on the ACT, has a GPA in the 97th percentile, and even captained her school’s Robotics Club. Outside academics, she gives back through Bo’ee Challah, delivering fresh bread to families in mourning. With so many options, she decided to apply to only one school: Yeshiva University (YU) through its Early Decision program.
“I asked myself, ‘What is important to me?’” Sasha shared. “It was the combination of strong academics and an active Jewish community. YU was the only place that offered both.”
This mix is attracting many accomplished students. In the last two years, Early Decision applications at YU have jumped over 70%. The average GPA of these applicants is now in the 95th percentile, with ACT scores at 33 and SAT scores around 1480.

Once admitted through Early Decision, students automatically enter YU’s Honors Program. This track features small classes, discussions, and unique seminars with leaders from various fields. Honors students often engage in research projects that can lead to publication and secure internships at top firms.
Sarah Sullivan, another high-achieving student, has a perfect 99 percentile GPA and plans to study medicine. “Biology has shown me how interconnected life is,” she says, influenced by her family of physicians. YU’s friendly and growth-focused community drew her in, allowing her to pursue her academic interests while staying connected to her Jewish roots.
Azriel Benoff, who aims to study political science, also reflects YU’s blend of academic rigor and Jewish commitment. With a 96 percentile GPA, he is an active debater and writer. He plans to join the Joseph Lieberman–Mitzner Center for Public Service and Advocacy. “You can impact lives directly,” Azriel notes. “In a time when antisemitism is rising, it’s essential to advocate for the Jewish community.”
