Wild Card Round Injury Updates: Quentin Lake and Davante Adams Set to Return Against Panthers, Plus Key News on Kevin Dotson and Rob Havenstein

WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. – The Rams are gearing up for the Wild Card playoff game this Saturday against the Panthers at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Coach Sean McVay shared that safety Quentin Lake and wide receiver Davante Adams are expected to return. Tight end Terrance Ferguson is also likely to play after missing the last game due to a hamstring issue.

McVay noted that Lake’s return is on track. He missed the final seven games of the regular season after injuring his elbow against the Seahawks in Week 11. Meanwhile, Adams re-injured his hamstring a few weeks later, keeping him out for the last five games. McVay emphasized the team’s cautious approach with Adams, saying, “I know it’s frustrated him, but he’s got that look in his eye that he’s ready to go.”

Ferguson’s absence last week was a precaution. He had a short recovery time after a Monday night game, and McVay didn’t want to risk further injury. Despite playing limited snaps recently, he’s been a crucial player for the team, recording 11 catches for 231 yards and three touchdowns in 14 games during his rookie season.

In more recent stats, Lake had 61 tackles, 10 defended passes, and one interception in his 10 games, while Adams boasted 60 receptions for 789 yards and a league-topping 14 touchdowns.

As a note on injuries, McVay referred to offensive lineman Rob Havenstein’s status as week-to-week. This suggests that while some players are on the mend, the team’s depth will be tested as they push forward in the playoffs.

According to recent reports, overall player injuries have impacted teams across the NFL this season. A recent survey showed that injuries have affected playoff performances significantly, leading to unpredictable outcomes. Addressing player health has never been more important, especially as teams head into high-stakes games.

The anticipation builds around these key players’ returns as fans and the team alike hope for a strong showing this Saturday. You can catch the game at 1:30 p.m. PT on FOX.
