In a thrilling match on Friday night in Orlando, Arizona Volleyball (10-6, 4-2 Big 12) triumphed over UCF in four sets. The Wildcats showcased their skill with 10 blocks and eight service aces. Jordan Wilson was the standout player, racking up 22 kills, while Carlie Cisneros contributed 10. Britt Carlson added seven kills and four blocks, with Adrianna Bridges also making her mark with four blocks.
The game kicked off with Arizona seizing the first set 26-24. They surged ahead with a 6-0 run. However, UCF fought back to tie the score at 24 before Arizona clinched the final two points. Wilson was on fire, netting nine kills and a hitting percentage of .333.
UCF regrouped in the second set, winning it 25-18. They took control with consistent scoring runs, while Arizona struggled to keep pace. Despite Wilson’s four kills, UCF’s impressive .324 hitting percentage secured their victory.
The Wildcats bounced back in the third set, winning 25-20. Arizona’s offense shined, especially Wilson, who scored four kills. Cisneros added two aces, vital for the Cats’ momentum and crucial for taking a 2-1 lead.
In the final set, Arizona sealed the win at 25-17. They hit an impressive .393 and served four aces. The team jumped to an early 5-1 lead that UCF couldn’t overcome. Wilson again led the charge with five kills, while Cisneros maintained a strong hitting percentage at .600.
