SUGAR LAND – The ACU Wildcats return to the course after a nearly month-long break. They are ready to compete in the Houston Christian-Colin Montgomerie Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.

This tournament features 15 teams, taking place at the Sweetwater Country Club-Cypress Course, which is a par-72 layout stretching over 7,051 yards. The Wildcats will play 36 holes on Monday and finish with 18 holes on Tuesday.
Ranked No. 120 in the latest clippd rankings, ACU is one of the higher-ranked teams in the field, alongside No. 49. The defending champions, New Mexico Junior College, stand out with a ranking of No. 8 in the NJCAA Division I. Other teams in the tournament include Houston Christian, Weber State, and Texas Southern, among others.
The Wildcats’ lineup includes senior Jaime Lewis, junior Gregoire Hoyeau, and freshmen Colin Leonard and Jack Hollingsed, along with sophomore Preston DeFriend.
So far this spring, the Wildcats have performed well, finishing fourth in both the Los Vaqueros Invitational in Cancun and the Bentwater Intercollegiate in Montgomery, Texas.
ACU has a strong history in the Montgomerie Invitational, having participated from 2016 to 2019. The team won the tournament in 2018 and consistently placed well in the other years.
