This season features 14 rounds, giving more opportunities for drivers to compete. Kalle Rovanperä is back to defend his championship title from 2022 and 2023. However, Thierry Neuville is cautious about predicting how tough the competition will be.
Neuville believes the season will definitely be challenging. He mentions that there are four to five strong contenders for the championship title. This includes himself, Rovanperä, Ott Tänak, and Elfyn Evans. The fifth spot could go to Adrien Fourmaux, who is new to the Hyundai team.
He noted some changes this season, like the shift to a gravel event for the final round, which could affect the points system. The cars have also seen some adjustments, and with a new tire manufacturer, drivers face added challenges.
When asked about Fourmaux’s potential to compete against established champions, Neuville expressed optimism. He believes that several drivers will be in the race for podium finishes. Overall, he feels the team has the tools for a successful season and is excited about the battles ahead.
