WILLIAMSTOWN — The Williamstown Yellowjackets had a stellar game against the Ravenswood Red Devils, winning 61-35. Although their free throw accuracy was only 50 percent, everything else clicked as they dominated the court.
Williamstown shot a remarkable 74 percent from the field, sinking 26 of 35 attempts. Their defense was equally strong, forcing 17 turnovers from Ravenswood, boosting their record to 12-3 this season.
Highlighting the night, senior Jayden Bryant reached a personal milestone by scoring his 1,000th point. He started strong, and after a missed three-pointer, he quickly got on the scoreboard with a two-pointer, assisted by teammate Parker Schramm.

“It’s just a milestone, but the biggest goal is to win,” Bryant said. He acknowledged his teammates’ contributions, especially point guard Cruz Isaly, who has provided hundreds of assists throughout their games. “This is more of a team achievement,” he added.
In the first quarter, Ravenswood surprised many by taking an early lead at 13-10, thanks to Kelan Lucas’s impressive three-pointers. However, Williamstown quickly regained control with Schramm tying the game and then assisting a basket by Wyatt Powell. This momentum carried into the second quarter, where the Yellowjackets began to distance themselves.
Williamstown executed an impressive 15-4 run, with Cruz Isaly playing a key role. At halftime, they led 33-21, having made 14 of 19 shots in the first half, showcasing their superior shooting skills.
“We moved the ball well and handled their defense effectively,” coach Scott Sauro praised his team’s performance.
The second half saw Williamstown take off even further. Lynken Joy, Bryant, and Isaly contributed to a scoring spree, pushing the lead to 20 points. Schramm electrified the crowd with an incredible dunk, further solidifying their dominance on the court.
After a stunning 18-0 run, Williamstown led 53-24. “Our pressure wore them down,” Sauro explained. The comfortable lead allowed him to share playtime among his roster, highlighting the team’s depth.
Bryant led all scorers with 13 points, while Schramm and Isaly each added 12. Sauro reflected on Bryant’s growth over four years, praising his hard work and skill development.
Bryant noted that the team’s depth makes them formidable as the tournament approaches. “We’re tough to beat when we play unselfishly,” he concluded.
Kelan Lucas was the standout for Ravenswood, scoring 11 points, with Evan Swain contributing eight points and six rebounds.
Next up, Williamstown will face Tyler Consolidated on Thursday.
