Winona State University showed its strength at the 2025 National Collegiate Gymnastics Association (NCGA) Championships, held at Gustavus Adolphus College. Four athletes from Winona State—Kennedy O’Connor, Bryce Stoltz, Gabby Kraft, and Jessica Miley—represented the team in this significant competition, marking the end of a remarkable season.
Kennedy O’Connor finished her collegiate career with a fantastic performance, taking third place on the vault with a score of 9.750. This adds to her distinguished history, including being the 2022 NCGA National Champion on the vault. She leaves Winona State holding the program record with a score of 9.825 on the vault.
Bryce Stoltz, the reigning NCGA National Champion from 2024, placed eighth on the beam with a score of 9.800, showcasing her best performance of the season. Gabby Kraft, in her freshman year, impressed everyone with a score of 9.800 on the floor exercise, which earned her 11th place overall. It’s a personal best for her, marking a bright start to her gymnastics career.
Jessica Miley also made her mark at the championships. Competing on the bars for the first time, she scored 9.550, finishing 21st out of 48 gymnasts.
This year has been historic for Winona State gymnastics. They set multiple top-10 scores in program history, broke the all-time team score record, and set a new vault record.
In a recent survey by the NCAA, gymnastics has seen a rise in participation by about 10% over the past five years, highlighting the sport’s growing popularity. This trend reflects a broader interest in athletic programs across college campuses and the commitment of colleges like Winona State to nurture talent in these programs.
