OMAHA, Neb. — Snow has finally arrived in Omaha, and that’s great news for local plow companies like Kanger Lawn’s. Owner Cody Kanger is back home after working out of town due to the lack of snow last month, and things are starting to look brighter for his business.
Cody shared, “It’s good to get things going, but it’s a bit strange working out all the first snow issues in the middle of February.” The big challenge now is dealing with the bitter cold while ensuring that all the equipment is in shape and his team stays safe.
In the past few days, Cody and his crew have been busy plowing driveways and shoveling sidewalks around the neighborhood. They’re making up for lost time and revenue. Just a few weeks ago, Cody was worried about how to pay the bills with no snow to clear.
Looking ahead, he anticipates multiple rounds of snow removal in the coming week. “We have to do three rounds of snow removal, with a day or two of breaks in between,” he explained. This means a lot of work, but it also means income for the company.
If you’re heading outside to enjoy the snow, remember to dress warmly and take breaks. Parents, keep an eye on your kids if they venture out to play. It’s best to have them come in and warm up every 30 to 60 minutes to stay safe in the cold.
