XVI Corps of Indian Army Wraps Up 2025-26 White Knight Inno Yodha Competition: Celebrating Innovation and Indigenous Solutions – SSBCrack News

The XVI Corps of the Indian Army, based in Nagrota Cantonment, recently concluded the White Knight Inno Yodha Competition 2025-26 on September 2-3. This event showcased innovation and local ingenuity, featuring over 70 entries from various field formations. Participants focused on practical solutions in critical areas like surveillance, mobility, logistics, force protection, artificial intelligence, and training.

This competition plays a vital role in India’s AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, launched in 2020. The initiative aims to reduce reliance on foreign imports and boost domestic defence production. A report from the Ministry of Defence for 2024 indicates that this strategy has resulted in an 18.2% annual growth rate in indigenous defence manufacturing.

The General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the White Knight Corps praised the innovative ideas presented, stressing the need for these efforts to align with the national goal of self-reliance. Notably, a young female officer received special recognition, highlighting a cultural shift within the traditionally male-dominated Indian Army. Research in the 2021 Journal of Military Studies shows that diversity can enhance problem-solving, which was evident in this competition.

Established in 1972, the XVI Corps has been at the forefront of strategic military innovation. This year’s competition reflects a broader global trend. A RAND Corporation study from 2023 emphasizes the growing importance of military innovation, particularly due to recent supply chain challenges.

With over 70 innovative solutions, the White Knight Inno Yodha Competition is helping cement India’s role as a leader in adaptive defence strategies, paving the way for a self-reliant and tech-savvy future. The focus on local innovation not only strengthens operational capabilities but also inspires a new generation of thinkers in the military.
