Brent Headrick came in to relieve Weathers and faced Coby Mayo, who had been struggling. Unfortunately, Headrick hung a slider that Mayo hit out for a three-run homer. This was a tough blow, especially as Headrick had previously been reliable, having not allowed a home run in his first twenty outings.
