YG Entertainment has decided to stop managing actors. They’re shifting their focus back to music.

On January 17, the company shared this news as part of their restructuring efforts. In a statement, YG expressed gratitude to the actors and their fans, promising to support the actors through this transition.
YG recently talked to each actor about their contracts and future plans. This change follows a trend where the company has been streamlining less profitable parts of its business. Last year, they integrated YGX into their Global Training Center and expanded their in-house production team from about 10 to over 50 members, enhancing their music production capabilities.
In YG’s statement, they shared their vision for the future: “We are aiming for 2025 as the year when our efforts will truly pay off.” They plan to boost the sustainability of their existing intellectual property while also finding and developing new talent and ideas.
YG currently represents several well-known actors, including Cha Seung Won, Yoo In Na, Claudia Kim, and many others.
As YG turns its focus to the music industry, it will be interesting to see how they evolve and what new projects they will bring to life.
