The Penn State men’s basketball team is ready to host Boston University on Tuesday night at the Bryce Jordan Center. The game starts at 7 p.m. and will be streamed on Peacock.
The Nittany Lions began their season strong with five wins but faced a setback on Saturday, losing 77-65 to Providence. Despite this, they have a solid record at home, with 12 straight victories in nonconference games at the Bryce Jordan Center.
This matchup will be the first between Penn State and Boston University in nearly 40 years. Previously, the Terriers won two games in the 1983-84 season. The Nittany Lions claimed a win when the teams first met back in 1956.
Boston University recently ended an eight-game losing streak with a thrilling 75-74 win over Harvard. In that game, freshman Chance Gladden scored 20 points, including the game-clinching shot with just four seconds remaining. The Terriers displayed impressive shooting, hitting over 60% of their shots for the first time in three years.
Penn State relies heavily on its depth, with bench players contributing an average of 35.5 points per game, the second-highest in the Big Ten. Freshmen Kayden Mingo and Melih Tunca are both key contributors, averaging over 13 points each. Redshirt junior Freddie Dilione V has been a steady presence, scoring a career-high 22 points against Providence.
