Yuvraj Singh Delivers 250 Cricket Kits to Aspiring Players: A Memorable Moment for the Future of Cricket

Lucknow, India — DP World has taken a big step to enhance grassroots cricket by launching its Beyond Boundaries Initiative in Lucknow. They delivered a repurposed shipping container pavilion and 250 cricket kits, aiming to make cricket more accessible in Uttar Pradesh.

The container is not just any shipping box. It has been transformed into a fully equipped pavilion for young players. This space will help them with training, preparation, and resting after practice. It was officially opened at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Cricket Stadium, with cricket legend Yuvraj Singh in attendance. The pavilion will stay at the Sage Cricket Academy in Lucknow, providing a permanent resource for budding cricketers.

The 250 cricket kits will be provided to various local academies, making sure aspiring players have the equipment and coaching they need. This initiative is part of a larger commitment from DP World, where they promise to donate 10 cricket kits for every 100 runs scored during ICC tournaments.

Yuvraj Singh emphasized the importance of access. He stated, “Talent exists in every corner of India, but access to the right facilities and equipment makes all the difference.” He believes that programs like Beyond Boundaries are crucial for giving young athletes the confidence to chase their dreams.

Hemant Kumar Ruia, the Country Manager for DP World, added that access to resources is a major hurdle for many young cricketers. He expressed pride in launching this initiative, stating that it’s all about creating pathways for talent to thrive.

Prem Manohar Gupta, Honorary Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association, highlighted the rich cricketing tradition in the state. He noted that partnerships like this play a critical role in nurturing and inspiring young players.

Since its inception in 2023, the Beyond Boundaries Initiative has already delivered 13 repurposed containers and over 3,500 cricket kits across eight countries. Indian cities like New Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Chennai have already benefited from this program.

DP World is committed to continuing its efforts on a global scale, planning more rollouts through 2026. This initiative not only fosters local talent but also shows how sports can unite communities and offer hope for the future.
