The last time Zach Ertz played in a Conference Championship game, he was with the Philadelphia Eagles, wearing their iconic midnight green uniform. That season, he helped lead the team to a Super Bowl victory, becoming a key player and earning a championship ring in just his fifth season.
Fast forward seven years, and Ertz is back on the path to glory, but this time with the Washington Commanders. It’s a new chapter for him, and many might not have seen this coming.
In Week 11, Ertz returned to Philadelphia, now representing the Commanders. It was his first game back there since his trade. He had a solid performance with 47 receiving yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter, but unfortunately, the Commanders fell short in that match.
A few weeks later, the Commanders managed to win at home, splitting the season series with the Eagles. Ertz is eager to tip the scales in favor of his new team.
Recently, he expressed his determination to contribute to his team’s success. “I’ll do everything I can to make sure we have a chance to win,” he said. “When the game starts, I’ll focus on making plays for the Commanders.”
Adding his experience to the team, Ertz has been a vital leader, particularly alongside fellow receiver Terry McLaurin. This season, he has accumulated 654 receiving yards and found the end zone seven times. With more games ahead, he aims to increase those numbers.
Now, with the Super Bowl within reach, Ertz is in a strong position for another championship ring. The Commanders will face the Eagles this Sunday at 3 PM ET, a game that could determine the next step in Ertz’s journey.
