Zayn Malik has stepped back from his upcoming appearance on The Tonight Show. The singer is currently seeking treatment from a top cardiologist and won’t be able to fulfill his commitment due to his doctor’s advice, according to People magazine.
Recently, Malik was hospitalized for an undisclosed health issue. He was supposed to join Jimmy Fallon to promote his new album, Konnakol, but had to cancel last minute. He shared a photo from his hospital bed on social media, thanking fans for their support and the hospital staff who took care of him, including nurses and cardiologists.
In his message, he expressed disappointment about missing his planned events. “Heartbroken that I can’t see you all this week,” he wrote. “I wouldn’t be in the place I am today without you guys.”
Malik didn’t provide details about his health issues, but it’s a reminder of the pressures artists face. In a recent survey by the American Psychological Association, over 60% of musicians reported mental health struggles, often linked to the pressures of fame.
Despite the setback, Malik is still on track for his tour, starting in May at the AO Arena in Manchester, UK. The tour is set to run until November 20, ending in Miami. So far, there haven’t been any announcements that his tour dates will change.
