Zelenska’s Coalition of Devices: Empowering Education with 100,000+ Gadgets Delivered in Just One Year

The Coalition of Devices has donated over 100,000 gadgets to support Ukrainian students and teachers in the past year.

First Lady Olena Zelenska shared this news on Telegram, highlighting the impact of this initiative. She explained that a year ago, the Olena Zelenska Foundation teamed up with the Ministry of Education and Science and the Ministry of Digital Transformation to create the Coalition of Devices. This collaboration brought together international organizations, governments, and donors to ensure that students and teachers have the technology they need for online learning.

“Now, a year later, we see the results: over 100,000 gadgets have been secured for those in need,” Zelenska noted. Some of these devices will be delivered in March and April. The focus is on frontline and border areas where in-person classes are not possible.

To maintain transparency, the Ministry of Education and Science along with the Ministry of Digital Affairs has set up a dashboard. This tool allows anyone to see how many devices are being sent to specific schools or regions.

Due to the ongoing conflict, about 434,000 students in Ukraine have lost access to traditional classes. The urgent need for devices is nearly met, with 125,461 gadgets requested. The Ministry of Education aims to fulfill all needs by the end of the year.

Throughout its efforts, the Olena Zelenska Foundation has helped over 65,000 students and teachers gain access to tablets and laptops, including those from the Coalition.

Zelenska expressed her gratitude to UNICEF, UNESCO, Google, Apple, Amazon, and various governments, including partners from the UAE, Serbia, Japan, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia who contributed to this success.

“Ensuring continuous education for children is a key priority for the state and the Foundation,” she added.

In a recent report, it was also mentioned that the UAE government donated 930 laptops to schools in the Kherson urban area through the Olena Zelenska Foundation. This support highlights the commitment to helping students continue their education despite the challenges they face.
