Zurich Airport is set to spice things up with the upcoming TREATS food hall, managed by the food collective ag, a part of Pointbreak Group. Scheduled to open in autumn 2027, this 2,000 sqm space will be a culinary landmark at the airport.
TREATS will be one of the largest food halls in Switzerland, featuring over 1,000 seats across two levels. Visitors can expect a variety of local and international dishes from 16 food stalls, food trucks, a café, and four bars. It will also have a stage for live events and outdoor terraces for a pleasant dining experience.
Stefan Gross, the Chief Commercial Officer of Flughafen Zürich AG, highlighted the vision for TREATS: “At TREATS, the focus is on enjoying food and socialising – true to the motto: Treat yourself!” With Pointbreak’s expertise, TREATS aims to become a hub of delicious experiences at the airport.
The food hall will be strategically located between car parks P1 and P2, conveniently accessible from various areas including the bus station, shopping zones, and the train station. It will feature five entrances and exits, making it easy for travelers and visitors to enjoy the offerings.
This new addition is part of a broader renovation project intended to improve the flow of passengers and enhance the airport’s public areas. Currently, over 100,000 people move through these spaces daily, so the changes should significantly improve their experiences.
In recent years, airport dining has evolved, with travelers seeking healthier and more diverse food options. According to a survey by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), 62% of passengers prefer local cuisine when traveling. TREATS aims to cater to this trend, emphasizing fresh, local ingredients alongside popular international dishes.
As the opening date approaches, it will be interesting to see how TREATS will shape the dining experience at Zurich Airport and attract food lovers. For more information about Zürich Airport’s developments, you can visit FTE Digital, Innovation & Startup Hub.
