Gemini is being updated with a workflow that lets users track step-by-step progress on screen, multitask in other apps, or close their phone and let Gemini run in the background. Users can also step in to make a quick adjustment or add a personal touch, then hand control back to Gemini. The system is designed to notify users when the task is ready for review and final confirmation.
Google is also bringing Gemini Notebook, formerly NotebookLM, directly to devices. The app comes preinstalled on Samsung’s new foldables.
Gemini Notebook is described as a thinking and research partner powered by multimodal models. On the Galaxy Z Fold8 series’ expansive display, users can drag and drop photos, documents, whiteboard images, voice recordings and more into a side-by-side workspace.
The app also includes a chat function that lets users ask questions about their sources or create custom resources, including slide decks, videos, flash cards, quizzes or even a podcast, tailored to how they learn best.
