New Delhi: The Indian Railways has introduced two special one-way Vande Bharat Express trains connecting Amritsar and Jammu to New Delhi. This initiative is designed to help tourists and residents return safely after air travel was suspended at 27 airports, including those in Jammu, Srinagar, and Amritsar, due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

With flights grounded, many travelers from Amritsar, Jammu, and nearby areas found themselves with few options. In response, the Indian Railways is offering dedicated Vande Bharat services.

Train Number 02464: Amritsar to Delhi Vande Bharat Special Express

This train will leave Amritsar at 3:55 PM and arrive in Delhi at 10:25 PM. It will make stops at Beas, Jalandhar City, Ludhiana Junction, and Ambala Cantt along the way.

Train Number 02462: Jammu to New Delhi Vande Bharat Special Express

Departing from Jammu’s Captain Tushar Mahajan Railway Station at 3 PM, this train is slated to reach New Delhi by 11:45 PM. It will also stop at Jammu Tawi, Kathua, Pathankot Cantt, Jalandhar Cantt, Ludhiana, and Ambala Cantt.

The Indian Railways encourages passengers to book their tickets early and to arrive on time. Only those with confirmed reservations will be permitted to board. This action reflects the ongoing commitment of the Indian Railways to support safe travel during these tense times.
