When it comes to the Pixel phone launch, Google is known for its leaks. This time, some surprising details have emerged about the Pixel 10.
A recent listing on a Chinese auction site, similar to eBay, revealed a “Pixel 10 prototype motherboard.” This item comes from an Engineering Validation Testing (EVT) unit. Along with it, two images of the phone and a close-up of the Tensor G5 motherboard were shared.
However, the listing has its quirks. The seller warned against scammers and mentioned that they wouldn’t sell to the person who took the photos. The pictures also reveal some oddities, like a “Liquid Detection Indicator” that isn’t typically shown and a “DVT” (Design Validation Test) mention in the device’s fastboot menu instead of EVT. Still, most features—especially the design—suggest that this is indeed a genuine Pixel 10 prototype.
It seems that the upcoming Pixel 10 might not bring major upgrades. The biggest change appears to be the addition of a telephoto lens alongside the main and ultrawide sensors. This could make the base Pixel 10 stand out more compared to the Pixel 9a and its future A-series successor. However, there’s a concern that this could compromise the quality of the primary sensor.
Looking ahead, analysts suggest that while the Pixel 10 may not revolutionize the smartphone market, it still reflects Google’s commitment to enhancing user experience. A recent survey found that many consumers are looking for better camera features, which Google seems to be addressing with this new model.
Social media buzz around the Pixel series is growing. Users are eager to see how the photo capabilities will stack up against its competitors, especially in social platforms where visuals matter the most. As the release date approaches, it will be interesting to see how these leaks impact public perception and sales.
The Pixel 10 is just around the corner, and it promises to be an intriguing addition to Google’s lineup, even if it remains a modest upgrade.
