CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The Harvard men’s hockey team just released its schedule for the 2025-26 season, and it looks exciting! Fans can expect 15 thrilling games at Bright-Landry Arena. Key matchups include games against Cornell, Boston University, and Michigan, all set to play in Cambridge.
The Crimson is bringing back key players like Casey Severo, Joe Miller, and the Ivy League Rookie of the Year, Mick Thompson. On defense, veterans Ryan Healey and Mason Langenbrunner will lead the way.
The season kicks off with an exhibition game against Northeastern at Matthews Arena, one of the oldest rinks in the country. Harvard has a strong history here, with a 9-4 record since 1963. Last season, Langenbrunner shined in the Beanpot, scoring twice against Northeastern.
Harvard’s regular season starts on the road against UConn on October 31. This is the third consecutive year the teams are facing off to begin the season. Following that, they return home to take on Stonehill before hosting Cornell and Colgate.
In previous seasons, Harvard has had some memorable moments against these rivals. For instance, last year, they faced Cornell in the ECAC tournament, which went down to a shootout. This year’s rematch promises to be just as thrilling.
As the season progresses, Harvard will head to the North Country to meet Clarkson and St. Lawrence. Harvard pushed hard last season, forcing a decisive game against Clarkson in the ECAC Quarterfinals, showcasing their strength and determination on the ice.
In another highlight, Harvard will travel to Burlington for a matchup against the Vermont Catamounts, which will be their first visit since 2017. Since Vermont left the ECAC, they’ve only met five times.
One of the big games to circle on the calendar is against Michigan after Thanksgiving. Harvard faced the Wolverines last season but fell short despite a strong performance from captain Joe Miller, who scored twice in that series.
After heading back into ECAC play, Harvard will host rivals Yale and Brown, looking to build on their success from last year when they went 3-0-1 in those matches.
The team faces a packed schedule in January, starting with games against Quinnipiac and Princeton, where they showed resilience last season with a last-minute goal that forced overtime. Strong performances like that are crucial as they prepare for the upcoming Beanpot tournament.
Speaking of Beanpot, the first round features a matchup against Boston College on February 2 at TD Garden. This will be the first time they meet in the Beanpot since 2023, making it a highly anticipated game.
As the season winds down, the Crimson have several crucial away games lined up. They’ll face Brown, Yale, Union, and RPI before returning home for the final stretch leading to the ECAC playoffs.
Overall, the 2025-26 season promises plenty of excitement for Harvard hockey as they look to build on last season’s successes and compete fiercely in the ECAC and Beanpot tournaments.
