DePauw University Celebrates the Arrival of the Exciting Class of 2029!

The residence halls at DePauw are buzzing with excitement as the Class of 2029 settles in. For these newcomers, it’s just the beginning of a journey filled with dreams and aspirations.

Isaiah Brundige ’29 is ready for the adventure. He plans to dive into humanities, languages, and international relations, hoping to leave a positive mark during his time here. “It’s going to be a fun journey,” he says. “I want to impact others.”

Isaiah isn’t alone. The new Tigers share a commitment to excellence. With an impressive average high school GPA of 3.9, they start their college life with solid academic credentials. Many are student-athletes (36%), and 22% are first-generation college students. Additionally, 15% hail from families with a DePauw history.

Logan Phillips ’29 appreciates the university’s close-knit academic culture. He values the diversity and personal attention in small classes. “You really get to know your professors well,” he notes.

Alumna Lindsay Winslow Brown ’06 reflects on this aspect fondly as her son, Connor Brown ’29, begins his own adventure. “The atmosphere feels the same,” she shares. “There’s a strong focus on academics and vibrant student life.”

For Connor, this familiar setting offers comfort amid the changes. “I’m excited but also sad to leave my family,” he admits. “It’s a mix of emotions.”

As students embrace this new chapter, it’s a reminder of how much college shapes futures. A study from the National Center for Education Statistics found that college graduates typically earn significantly more than those without degrees, making this investment crucial for many.

While the Class of 2029 steps into their college lives, they carry hopes and experiences that will shape their DePauw journey.
