Amari Cooper’s journey has taken some unexpected turns.
When the Oakland Raiders drafted him fourth overall in 2015, little did he know he’d watch the team move to Las Vegas a few years later. The fans he once played in front of are now cheering in Allegiant Stadium, vibrant with a new energy and location.
Cooper faced the Raiders once while playing for the Cleveland Browns in 2024. He almost made a significant impact, catching an 82-yard touchdown, but it was called back due to a holding penalty. Ultimately, the Raiders squeaked out a 20-16 win that day.

He was a Pro Bowl selection in three out of his first four seasons and scored 19 touchdowns while leading the team in receiving yards for his first two years. In 2016, he carved out an impressive 1,153 yards, contributing to the team’s playoff hopes with a 12-4 record.
His return isn’t driven by nostalgia alone. Cooper sees it as a chance to fulfill a promise he made to himself: “It was an opportunity to finish what I started. That was the main thing.”
