Discover Culinary Delights and Cultural Wonders at the St. Symeon Food & Culture Fair!

The 7th Annual St. Symeon Food & Culture Fair welcomed visitors for a day full of tasty treats and cultural learning. People enjoyed delicious baked goods, lunch options, and unique gifts while exploring the stunning church decorated with beautiful murals.

The fair included three engaging church programs. At 10:15 a.m., Fr. Phillip Ritchey shared insights on church architecture. The choir followed at 11 a.m. with “The Psalms: Songbook of the Church,” performing hymns inspired by the Book of Psalms. Later, at 1 p.m., Fr. Deacon Ephraim Rivers discussed “What is Iconography?” shedding light on the significance of sacred art in the church.

The outdoor marketplace featured various booths offering diverse foods. Attendees found delights from the Middle Eastern Market, Balkan Bakery, and Southern Sweets & Savories, among others. New this year was Moana Munchies, serving delicious Polynesian dishes. A highlight was the Opa! Kabana tent, where fresh Greek loukoumades, or honey puffs, were made to order, available with classic cinnamon or rich chocolate toppings.

The Slavic Tea Room returned, providing hot Slavic tea and kompot, a homemade fruit drink. Guests savored thousands of fresh pierogi, served with onions and sour cream, along with tasty sausage rolls. Frozen pierogi were also available for those who wanted to take some home.

This year’s fair took place on Saturday, October 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., creating a memorable gathering spot for the community. Events like this not only preserve cultural heritage but also foster community spirit.
