Exciting News: TikTok Unveils Its Own Broadcast Channels to Compete with Instagram!

TikTok has just introduced a new feature called “bulletin board.” This allows brands and creators to share updates with their followers. Think of it as TikTok’s answer to Instagram’s broadcast channels, which launched in 2023.

With bulletin boards, only the creator can post messages. Followers can react using emojis, but they can’t comment. Creators can share text, images, and videos.

Currently, this feature is available to creators who are 18 or older and have at least 50,000 followers. The goal is to help creators and businesses easily connect with their audience by sharing news and exclusive content. Instead of using Stories or regular posts, they can now use bulletin boards for important updates.

TikTok had tested the feature back in June, so the launch is not unexpected. During the testing phase, artists and musicians used it to share new music and encourage followers to pre-save upcoming releases. Big names like People magazine and Paris Saint-Germain also utilized the feature to keep fans informed.

According to a recent study from the Pew Research Center, over 60% of teens use TikTok as a source of news. This makes bulletin boards a valuable tool for creators wanting to engage their audience effectively.

When setting up a bulletin board, creators can easily find the option in their inbox. They can choose whether or not to display it on their profile and even give it a name. Followers can join by clicking the bulletin board link on the creator’s profile, ensuring they’ll get notifications for every new post.

As with all content on the platform, TikTok emphasizes safety. They have strict Community Guidelines that both users and creators must follow. Tools for blocking and reporting content are available to maintain a positive environment.

This latest addition shows TikTok’s commitment to enhancing community building and content promotion, making it easier for creators and brands to share their stories. For more detailed information, check out TikTok’s official announcement here.
