Louisville Track & Field: Highlights from Day One at the Lenny Lyles Invitational
Louisville’s Hilltopper Track and Field team kicked off the Lenny Lyles Invitational with some impressive performances.
Top Performers
The day’s spotlight was on the men’s pole vault. Sam Crenshaw had a stellar performance, capturing first place and setting a new program record by vaulting 5.27 meters. This marked the fourth time this indoor season that he broke his own record. In the men’s B Division, Jackson Gray also showcased his skills, finishing first with a personal record of 4.97 meters.
In the women’s weight throw, Ajla Basic earned a top-10 finish, while Jayla Gilbert recorded a season-best throw of 15.10 meters.
Track Events
The competition started with the men’s weight throw, where LeAndre Bolen threw 14.10 meters. On the track, Dreeanna Wade led the women’s 400 meters, finishing 17th; Sarah Payne clocked in a season-best time of 1:00.10.
For the men, Wade Balcom took on the 800 meters and earned a top-15 finish, while Ben Dunkle was just shy of the top 20, placing 21st.
In the 3000 meters, Brooke Greenwell and Sam Herbig impressed with personal records of 9:52 and 8:46, respectively.

Five Hilltoppers set personal bests during the event. Crenshaw now holds the top seven marks in WKU Indoor Track and Field history, showcasing his elite status.
