NORMAN – The No. 13 Oklahoma men’s tennis team is ready for an exciting start to February, with five matches lined up. Their journey begins on February 4 against Tulsa at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
This weekend, the Sooners will host four matches in just two days at the Headington Family Tennis Center. They’ll face Wichita State on February 6 at 1 p.m., followed by Oral Roberts at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, February 7, they’ll tackle another doubleheader, first against New Mexico at noon, then against UTA at 4 p.m.
WHAT TO KNOW: Fans can follow Wednesday’s match against Tulsa through live updates on X. Live info for Friday and Saturday’s matches can be found here. All home matches in 2026 are free to attend. Since concessions are not available, fans should bring their own food and drinks. Also, remember the clear bag policy for security.
On Friday, attendees can grab free wristbands promoting mental health awareness. Plus, fans at the Wichita State match can win OU tennis gear!
IN THE RANKINGS: As of now, OU sits as the No. 13 team in the nation. Three players are in the top-75 in the latest ITA individual rankings: Alvarez at No. 46, Lacides at No. 57, and Asahi Harazaki at No. 74. Additionally, Rodriguez and Kimhi are ranked No. 30 in doubles.
PLAYER TO WATCH: Keep an eye on freshman Johan Rodriguez. He’s on a four-match singles win streak after impressive performances at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Berkeley, California. He pulled off an incredible upset against then-No. 15 California and won against UCF, scoring crucial points for Oklahoma.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS: Tulsa may not be ranked as a team, but they have a strong doubles pair in Connor Thomas Doig and Reiya Komagata, who are sitting at No. 33. Wichita State’s only ranked player is Zaid Mashni at No. 66 in singles. Oral Roberts, New Mexico, and UT Arlington don’t hold any team rankings or ranked players.
WHAT’S NEXT: After this five-match stretch, the Sooners will start conference play against No. 16 South Carolina on February 21 at noon.
