University of Pennsylvania Men’s Tennis Triumphs Over Harvard in Exciting ECAC Championship Opener!

The University of Pennsylvania men’s tennis team had an impressive win against Harvard in the first round of the ECAC Indoor Championship Tournament, finishing 4-2.

In doubles, the fourth-ranked team of Manfredi Graziani and Aaron Sandler secured an early victory over Harvard’s Benjamin Privara and Nathan Blohkin, winning 6-3. However, the other pair, Vojtech Vales and Shaurya Bharadwaj, faced a tougher match and lost to Rohan Murali and Kolos Kincses, 6-2. Harvard finished the doubles round strong, with James MacDonald and Masato Perera defeating Matthew Rutter and Parashar Bharadwaj, 6-4, giving Harvard the first point.

On to singles, Graziani, ranked #46, dominated his match against Privara, winning 6-1, 6-3. Luke Butera also shone, defeating #34 Rohan Murali in straight sets, 6-3, 6-4. Shaurya Bharadwaj notched another win over #27 Nathan Blohkin, coming in strong with a 6-4, 6-2 finish. The clinching point came from freshman Vojtech Vales, who triumphed in a nail-biting tiebreaker against Marc Ktiri, winning 6-0, 2-6, 7-5.
