The latest UK video game charts are out, and “Resident Evil Requiem” has taken the top spot after its release on February 27, 2026. It’s no surprise, as the franchise has a loyal fanbase. However, on the new Switch 2, the game only accounted for 4% of total sales. Christopher Dring of The Game Business compared its performance on Switch 2 to “Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition,” noting they had similar sales trajectories. Interestingly, “Requiem” outperformed “Mario Tennis Fever” in its first week and has surpassed the physical sales of both “Resident Evil 4” and “Resident Evil Village.”
The “Resident Evil Generation Pack” entered the charts too, landing at number 3. This pack is exclusive to the Switch 2 and includes “Requiem,” “7: Biohazard,” and “Village.” All titles for the Switch 2 are released as Game-Key Cards, but this didn’t hinder “Requiem” from thriving.
In other news, “Tales of Berseria Remastered” debuted at number 20, with 38% of its sales coming from the Switch. PS5 still dominated with 54% of the total sales for that title.
Sales charts can be revealing. According to recent statistics, physical game sales in the UK have increased by 15% this year. This shift may point toward gamers returning to buying physical copies after a digital-heavy pandemic period.
The table below provides a snapshot of the top games this week and their platform breakdown:
- Resident Evil Requiem – PS5 54%, PC 36%, Xbox 6%, Switch 2 4%
- Mario Kart World

- Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate – PS5 60%, PS4 39%
- Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Switch 2 52%

As of this week, it’s clear that the gaming industry continues to evolve. Social media buzz remains strong for “Resident Evil,” with fans expressing excitement over both the new title and the Generation Pack. This highlights a vibrant community eager for fresh content and nostalgic experiences.
