Exciting News: SSP Secures New Food & Beverage Contract at JFK Terminal 6 – What This Means for Travelers!

SSP America has secured a contract to run four dining spots in the new Terminal 6 at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK). This is part of their mission to bring a genuine taste of New York to travelers. Terminal 6 is a key piece of the $19 billion upgrade making JFK a top-tier airport. As the first phase opens in 2026, SSP will feature local favorites and their unique concepts to highlight the flavors of this iconic city.

Steve Thody, CEO of JFK Millennium Partners, shared his excitement, saying, “Our vision for T6 is to create a welcoming dining experience that captures the essence of New York. SSP America shares that vision, blending exceptional local flavors with hospitality.”

Among the eateries planned, For Five Coffee, founded in 2010 in Queens, has grown to become a beloved part of New York’s coffee scene. It aims to bring the art of specialty coffee to locals and visitors alike. P.J. Clarke’s, a historic Manhattan saloon since 1884, is famous for its “Cadillac” burgers and old-world charm. Other spots include Le Grand Comptoir, which offers travelers a peaceful space to enjoy fine wines and chef-driven dishes, and Gotham Burger Social Club, known for its trendy burgers and cozy vibe.

SSP America’s Chief Development Officer, Paul Loupakos, noted that Terminal 6 symbolizes the future of air travel—modern, sustainable, and deeply connected to New York’s culture. He emphasized the honor of contributing to such an important development, enhancing the travel experience for everyone.

This new terminal is part of a broader trend toward enhancing dining experiences in airports. The focus on local flavors and sustainable practices is becoming increasingly important to travelers. According to a recent survey from the Airports Council International, 93% of travelers want better dining options at airports, highlighting the demand for high-quality food while traveling.

Overall, Terminal 6 at JFK shows how airports can blend travel with local culture, making each journey a richer experience.
