Crowds flocked to the 2025 Queens Taste at the New York Hall of Science. This beloved event, showcasing local cuisine, will return this May. Expect around 50 restaurants and bars, all sharing their unique flavors at Sound River Studios in Long Island City.
Organized by the Queens Economic Development Corporation (QEDC), the event has been a staple since 2004. On May 12, from 6-9 p.m., guests will enjoy a vibrant gallery atmosphere and stunning views of the New York City skyline.
Ben Guttmann, Executive Director of QEDC, shared his excitement about the new venue. “It’s an amazing waterfront space. People can relax on the patio in perfect weather,” he said. The festival features a variety of cuisines from around the world, highlighting the borough’s rich culinary diversity.
Participating restaurants include popular spots like Arepas Cafe from Astoria and Jora in Long Island City. Long-standing favorites like London Lennie’s and Neir’s Tavern will also be there, bringing a sense of community to the event.
Tickets start at $125, with proceeds supporting QEDC’s mission to boost jobs and businesses in Queens. Guttmann noted that the event sells out every year, thanks to its rich flavors and community vibe. “Once you’re inside, it’s clear why,” he remarked.
Queens Taste isn’t just a food festival; it’s a networking hub for local businesses. Guttmann emphasized the benefits for restaurants, saying, “They gain exposure to new customers, making connections that can last long after the event.”
This year’s event promises to be particularly special, as it celebrates the diversity that makes Queens unique. Guttmann stated, “Queens is the most delicious place on Earth!”
Sound River Studios can host up to 450 guests, providing both indoor and outdoor spaces. With numerous businesses set to participate, the lineup is impressive.
