The popular animated musical comedy series Hazbin Hotel is nearing its end, with Prime Video announcing a fifth and final season. This was shared during the show’s panel at LVL UP Expo. The upcoming season will be available in over 240 countries, though the premiere date hasn’t been revealed.
Created by Vivienne Medrano, Hazbin Hotel tells the story of Charlie, the princess of Hell. She dreams of rehabilitating demons to ease Hell’s overpopulation. Despite the doubts and mockery from others, she believes her hotel can help demons “check out” into Heaven. With the support of her partner, Vaggi, and the first test subject, Angel Dust, her vision starts to gain traction when a powerful figure, the Radio Demon, lends a hand.
The series grew from a popular pilot that Medrano released on YouTube in 2019, which racked up over 120 million views. Its blend of adult humor, unique characters, and catchy musical numbers has carved out a special place in the hearts of fans around the world.
“I’m incredibly grateful to Prime Video for supporting our vision at SpindleHorse,” Medrano shared. “I can’t wait for fans to see how this journey ends.”
Medrano not only serves as the executive producer but also directs all the episodes. The show is produced by A24 and Bento Box Entertainment, both known for their award-winning work.
Melissa Wolfe, Head of Animation at Amazon MGM Studios, praised the series, saying, “Hazbin Hotel has revolutionized adult animation with its bold storytelling and vibrant artistry. Vivienne and her team have crafted a world that has truly resonated with audiences everywhere. We’re excited to offer fans a memorable conclusion.”
In addition to this update, it was also revealed that the first half of the third season of Helluva Boss will premiere this fall on Prime Video, with the second half scheduled for 2027.
With its unique blend of comedy and serious themes, Hazbin Hotel continues to shape the landscape of adult animation, leaving a lasting impact on viewers and the industry alike.
