NORTH PLAINS, Ore. – The Washington men’s golf team is in a strong position at the Big Ten Championships, currently holding second place. After two rounds, they shot an even-par 280, bringing their total score to 1-over 561.

Head coach Alan Murray described the day as a mix of ups and downs but noted that finishing well on the 18th hole gives the team hope for the final round. “We just need to play well tomorrow and hope for a little help from UCLA,” he said.

Player Highlights

Finn Koelle stood out, moving into a tie for seventh after shooting 2-under 68. His round included an impressive eagle on the last hole, marking his third 68 of the season. He’s currently at 1-under overall.

Grady Millar matched his previous day with an even-par 70, securing his place as one of 11 players at even or better. Jacob Goode bounced back with another even-par round, improving his position to tie for 59th at 7-over for the tournament.

Jake Foley contributed with a score of 72 (+2), including a hole-out eagle on the par-4 fourth hole. He currently stands at 4-over, tied for 35th. Freshman Emil Herstad closed the lineup with a 3-over 73 but remains in the Top 15 with a score of 1-over.

Murray expressed confidence in his team. “All of our guys have been under par at some point this week, so we just need to keep focusing and make a few more putts,” he said.
